Promoterbot:what is Promoterbot

Promoterbot is a data collection tool that you can use to promote your plug-ins.

It is maintained by Mark Niemann-Ross as an answer to the frequent question - "How can I get my plug-in listed on xxx page on www.adobe.com?" I found myself frequently spending hours sending developer press releases around to the maintainers of various Adobe pages. In addition, I knew there were some press folks that wanted this information as well.

How it works

  1. A developer (probably you!) gets an OpenID logon
  2. Developer logs into promoterbot ( http://developer.niemannross.com/promoterbot ) for the first time
  3. Developer creates an employee listing (if this is your first time at Promoterbot)
  4. Developer creates a company listing (if this is a first time for this company) and attaches the new developer/employee listing to the company
  5. New employee/developer entries require approval by MNR, so that malingers can't maliciously associate themselves with a company that they aren't employed by
  6. After the approval is finished, and a notice is sent back to the developer, the Developer logs in, and creates plug-in listings. You can also update your company information.
  7. MNR is notified that there are new plugins, and approves for publication.
  8. When approved, information about that plug-in is sent out to a wide variety of sources, as well as the promoterbot.rss feed, del.icio.us/promoterbot and an xml feed that is used for demos.

For example
